Callaghan UK tour dates

BBC Radio 2 playlisted artist Callaghan has announced she’ll be returning this March for a new UK tour, playing 12 shows across the country.

Kicking off in Derby on March 3, the tours includes headline dates in London, Manchester, Birmingham, and her first ever Scottish show, in Edinburgh on March 9. Plus Callaghan returns to the massive C2C, following her triumphant debut at the festival last year. This time round she’ll be playing 3 shows across the weekend, including a coveted spot on Bob Harris’ Under The Appletree stage

The Nashville based singer songwriter will be playing songs from her recent album, ‘A History of Now’ including the acclaimed BBC Radio 2 playlisted singles ‘Best Year’ and ‘We Don’t Have Change The World’ and her most recent release – ‘When You Loved Me.’

Originally from Lincolnshire Callaghan moved to the USA in 2010 to tour and record with Atlanta based Grammy nominee Shawn Mullins. Since then she’s remained a completely independent artist with her own label, one who puts every penny she makes back into her career – and it’s working. After five years in the U.S, Callaghan now tours pretty much solidly, mixing headline gigs with her hugely successful house tours – a simple idea which she’s taken to a whole new level, delivering three multi-date, coast-to coast house show tours in the US since 2013.

House shows have helped her sell over 10, 000 albums in the States, and built a solid and loyal fan base who support her headline shows in multiple US markets and also helped crowd fund A History of Now. Marking the progress of her house show tour Billboard concluded Callaghan has Perfected a model that few artists would dare endeavour, or possess the will, and skills, to pull off (Billboard Magazine, April 2015)

Over the last 12 months shes brought this entrepreneurial fighting spirit back to the UK. Already familiar to fans of Bob Harris who describes her as “a wonderful artist…hugely talented”, Callaghan has seen her profile build substantially in the UK since early 2015. Her album won critical acclaim on release, she had two appearances at the C2C festival at London’s O2 arena followed by a sellout headline show in London. She toured across the UK in April with multiple sold out dates and last summer was invited to play at festivals including SummerTyne Festival, The Secret Garden Party and Cambridge Folk Festival.

Add to this the double BBC Radio 2 Playlists, and a ton of other radio and press acclaim and it’s clear Callaghan is well on her way to becoming one of the UK’s brightest new talents.

Callaghan, “when you loved me” out december

Infused with pop, rock and country influences and, above all, immediate hooks’ – Billboard

“Amazing…She has a guitar, she has a voice, and she writes…no more needs to be said.” Jeremy Vine, BBC Radio 2

Callaghan is a wonderful artist…beautiful, warm and hugely talented.”

Bob Harris, BBC Radio 2

Following her hugely successful summer tour, a run of house shows, headline slots and festival appearances includingSecret Garden Party and Cambridge Folk Festival – Nashville based singer songwriter Callaghan confirms she’ll be returning to the UK this month to promote her stunning new single, ‘When You Loved Me’ and for another string of UK shows.

‘When You Loved Me’ is the latest single taken from her recent album, ‘History of Now’ released earlier this year,  following the BBC Radio 2 Playlisted ‘Best Year’ and ‘We Don’t Have Change The World.’

Changing pace from the upbeat singles released so far, ‘When You Loved Me’ is the first ballad to be taken from the album. Inspired by an 85 year old friend’s story, Callaghan tackles the universal theme of first love, and the ‘what if’ questions that remain long after a relationship ends.

Callaghan: “One night over dinner she told me about the first man she ever fell in love with. Although the romance didn’t last, she often thought about him during the decades that passed. She’s held onto to that feeling, wondering how things might have been if life had taken a slightly different direction or they had stayed together. I think everyone can relate to that feeling of falling in love for the first time and no matter where life takes you or how old you are, it’s something you never forget.”

Originally from Lincolnshire Callaghan moved to the USA in 2010 to tour and record with Atlanta based Grammy nomineeShawn Mullins. In 2015, after five years of building her audience in the US, (where she’s since sold over 10,000 albums) – she returned to the UK with her new album ‘A History of Now.’ Already familiar to fans of Bob Harris who describes her as “a wonderful artist…hugely talented”, Callaghan’s profile has been growing rapidly. Two appearances at the massive C2Cfestival at London’s O2 arena in March were followed by a sellout show in London, a tour in April with multiple sold out dates and appearances at SummerTyne Fest, The Secret Garden Party, Cambridge Folk Fest and more.

Add to this the two Radio 2 Playlists, and a ton of other radio and press acclaim and it’s clear Callaghan is well on her way to becoming one of the UK’s brightest new talents.

Back in the US Callaghan continues to headline iconic venues in the likes of Nashville, Atlanta, Chicago, Portland, Washington, Philadelphia, Seattle and more. She recently earned a second major feature in Billboard magazine for her pioneering house show tour, recorded a sought after session for Daytrotter and had her track ‘Crazy Beautiful Life’ added to Sirius XM’s influential Coffee House.

As Callaghan returns to the UK for her autumn trip, longtime fan Bob Harris broadcasts her ‘Live in Session’ on his Radio 2 show. She’s also appearing as a judge at a BBC Radio Lincolnshire songwriters’ event in October before kicking off her tour on 2nd November in Bristol, followed by dates in London (with Ward Thomas) Manchester, Preston and Birmingham.

Scarlette Fever Announces UK Dates With Sandi Thom

Fast-rising Scarlette Fever, in advance of her UK and European tour this autumn with #1 singer-songwriter Sandi Thom, releases new single ‘Praying For Change’ on September 17.

A collaboration with Metrophonic’s Paul Barry (James Morrison) and produced by Brian Rawlings, it’s a hugely melodic standout ballad with haunting lyrics in the ‘Elated’ mould. It’s set to be the lead track on an EP featuring the live versions of Cheatin’ Man, Single White Female and Looking Glass, from the Steve Lironi sessions which haven’t yet been released.

Kept very busy writing over the last two months with some exciting collaborators, Scarlette also plays at PENN festival 7th July and Smooth Radio Liverpool Docks show on 21st July, before heading USA bound to play for US TV networks and do some more writing with certain under-wraps A-list personnel.

2012 is shaping up nicely, in fact. In April, Scarlette released ‘The Great Expectations’ EP, debuting a new, rawer sound. Lead track ‘Hour Of Sunshine,’ co-written with and produced by Julian Emery (Lissie) was remixed by Cenzo Townshend (Snow Patrol) and complemented by a second, live mix produced by Steve Lironi (Bon Jovi). The EP also contained interpretations by Ash Howes (Texas) of live favourites ‘Cheatin’ Man’ & ‘Good Day’ (both co-written with Andy Wright – Imelda May). Since premiering on, the video, produced by Dani Jacobs (Moby, Phil Collins/ Texas) has received over 200,000 views on youtube. Check it out HERE

In April Scarlette also made her first trip to the States, to perform two storming gigs at MUSEXPO (alongside the likes of Caro Emerald) and the Worldwide Radio Summit, both in LA. “It was my first jaunt across the pond,” says Scarlette. “Artists like Jessie J, Dido, and Adele have all performed at these showcases before, so you never know…”

Scarlette Fever had a busy 2011, too. ’Debut single ‘Crash & Burn’ sailed straight onto Radio 2’s B-list in January, reaching #2 on the Billboard Breakout Club Chart, and winning praise across the media. Since then, her profile has steadily risen, alongside the further radio playlists (including another Radio 2 B-List for recent single, Elated) and national press acclaim everywhere from big-selling tabloids like Daily Mirror to the influential Popjustice website. She toured with Girls Aloud, performed with Robbie Williams, as well as completing a 20 date support with 80s legends Mike & The Mechanics and an autumn leg with Caro Emerald and Roachford.
