BBC Radio 2 A-listed singer songwriter Kerri Watt returns with her stunning new single, ‘Old School Love’, out July 7 on East West Records.

Whilst continuing to showcase her knack for writing a great hook, ‘Old School Love,’ marks a slight change from her previous two singles, the BBC Radio 2 play listed ‘Long Way Home’ and ‘The Wild’.  With a more simple production and mellow instrumentation, it’s a love song that as its title suggests, plays homage to an old school sound. The melody let’s Kerri’s vocal shine, laying bare the honest accessible song writing that has already won her an army of loyal fans.

“I think it falls somewhere between Long Way Home and The Wild because it’s a bit of a ballad but also has a positive, feel good vibe,” says Kerri. “I wanted the song to sound classic and timeless like its title and think we managed to capture that in the production.”

Over the past year, Kerri has been travelling across the world, performing and writing new material. This includes a track written and recorded with Embrace, details coming soon. She’ll also be performing alongside Embrace at one of their forthcoming shows this July.

Kerri’s previous success includes the aforementioned BBC Radio 2 A-list for her single’ Long Way Home’ and a Radio 2 B-List for ‘The Wild.’  She’s performed on ITV’s Weekend Show and STV’s Live At Five, plus had critical acclaim everywhere from the Daily Telegraph, The Independent, The Sun, Metro, Daily Star, Notion, Glamour Magazine, to Attitude Magazine, Music Week and Record of the Day amongst many others.  She also hit Number 1 on Hype Machine with the remix of her single ‘You’ and has performed at festivals including Isle of Wight, The Great Escape, Secret Garden Party and Glastonbury. She’s also supported Nina Nesbitt, Ward Thomas, Starsailor, Mike & The Mechanics and The Overtones.

‘Old School Love’ is out July 7.

Kerri Watt Returns

Wild Front Cover (Medium)

Really excited to confirm the beautiful Kerri Watt returns this March with her brand new single, The Wild.

This is the follows up to her BBC Radio 2 A-listed record ‘Long Way Home.’

Produced once again by Embrace’s Richard McNamara, it’s a big song, with big production and continues to showcase Kerri as a major new UK talent.

It’s a song about falling in love,” says Kerri. “About letting go of bad past experiences and getting lost in the moment and letting yourself be vulnerable again.”

And don’t miss the stunning new video, filmed in Iceland, a fitting location for the song’s title. Kerri: “Iceland was unbelievable, the landscapes are like a fairy tale. I wanted to recreate what had been in my head when I wrote the song, whilst incorporating real elements of the wild and I think we’ve done both perfectly. I like that it’s about a journey, but not specifically a romantic one…”

‘The Wild’ follows an amazing 2015 for the Scottish singer songwriter, who finally crossed over into the mainstream with her last single, ‘Long Way Home.’ The track rocketed onto BBC Radio 2’s A list, and helped her nab her first national TV performance on ITV’s Weekend Show.

She’s had critical acclaim everywhere from the Daily Telegraph, The Sun, Notion, Glamour Magazine, to Attitude Magazine, Music Week and Record of the Day amongst many others. She also hit Number 1 on Hype Machine with the remix of her single ‘You’ and won over crowds across last summer’s festivals including Isle of Wight, The Great Escape, Secret Garden Party and Glastonbury.

She can now add Nina Nesbitt, Ward Thomas, Starsailor, Mike & The Mechanics and The Overtones to her impressive live support list, with more big tour supports on the cards for this spring – details to be announced.

All eyes are now on the next 12 months, a big year for Kerri. After ‘The Wild’ she’s hoping to spend the summer playing more festivals, she’s already recorded the follow up single and she’ll finally be recording her debut album with Richard McNamara, plus she’s planning her own headline tour for the autumn.
