We had last week off to recover from Glastonbury, but now we’re back and eager to share with you four new tracks that we can’t get out of our heads.
1. Mutya Keisha Siobhan – Flatline
At long last, the original Sugababes members — that would be Mutya Buena, Keisha Buchanan and Siobhan Donaghy — have gifted the people with “Flatline,” a synthy, handclappy, glorious pop gem that comes just in time for the summer, and arrives 13 years after the trio last put out a track together.
2. Franz Ferdinand – Right Action
Sounding like they’ve come straight from 2004, the Glaswegian 4 piece return with the first single of their up-coming forth album, ‘Right Thoughts, Right Words, Right Action’. It’s the usual affair of indie pop/rock, but we love it and look forward to some live shows this year.
3. London Grammar – Strong
Hannah, Dan and Dot, better known as London Grammar have been making quite a stir since they appeared earlier in the year. Latest single, ‘Strong’ works upon their winning formula of haunting lyrics and sparse production. Expect a full album later in the year, which will no doubt arrive with rave reviews.
4. Circuit21 – Love In The Shadows (Cahill Remix)
And finally Belfast born and bred Robert Brown aka Circuit21 releases his debut single, a floor-filling electro re-work of the 80’s cult classic ‘Love In The Shadows.’ It’s a fun track with a video sent direct from the future.
